Abstract
The article examines the didactic potential of multimedia technologies as an effective means of increasing children’s interest in reading and deepening their understanding of fiction. The aspects of successful application of multimedia technologies in educational practice, as well as their role in the formation of children’s reading culture are discussed. The possibilities of using interactive elements, audio and video materials, animation and other multimedia tools to activate reading perception, develop imagination and critical thinking are analyzed. Specific examples of using multimedia technologies when working with fiction of various genres are presented, the importance of a methodologically sound approach to their application in order to achieve an optimal educational effect and avoid replacing active reading with passive perception of ready-made content is emphasized. In conclusion, the need to integrate multimedia technologies into educational programs is emphasized in order to create a more effective and exciting learning environment. The problem of the influence of the media space on children’s reading requires a comprehensive analysis of the processes that arise in connection with a radical change in the media priorities of society.
