Abstract
The article provides a lexical and semantic description of the Belarusian publishing terminology: its semantic composition is analyzed, the main thematic groups are identified, paradigmatic connections (phenomena of hyponymy, antonymy, synonymy, polysemy) that reflect the specificity of the system are described. publishing terminology in the Belarusian language. It is noted that at the logical and conceptual level, publishing terminology consists of three main groups (“Publications”, “Editorial and publishing processes”, “Prepress and publishing processes”), which in turn are divided into subgroups. Attention is drawn to the connection of publishing terminology with other terminological systems (printing, library and bibliography, bookselling, linguistics, literary criticism, art criticism, computer technologies). The place of hyponymy in the publishing terminology system is determined. It has been established that in the Belarusian publishing terminology, generic relations are often formed by several classification features. Terminological antonymy and synonymy are considered. In the Belarusian publishing terminology, antonymy of lexical and word-formation types is realized; сontradictory, opposite, vector terms-antonyms are revealed. Types of terminological synonyms (lexical, lexical-syntactic, syntactic) are analyzed. The phenomenon of polysemy is considered. It is noted that the analyzed terminology system contains ambiguous terms that go beyond the scope of special areas of knowledge, intersystem and intrasystem polysemy.
