Abstract
One of the fundamental concepts of modern philology, which expresses the specificity of man and his being, his relationship with the world and the most important conditions of existence in the world, is the linguistic picture of the world. At the present stage of development of linguistics, there are many pictures of the world: the scientific, the naive, the linguistic picture of the world of the national language (national linguistic picture of the world), the linguistic picture of the world of an individual, the phraseological, the ethnic, the dialect picture of the world, the Soviet ideological picture of the world, etc. The article is devoted to the analysis of universal features typical for any picture of the world. Init an attempt is made to understand the uniqueness of the linguistic picture of the world as a way of showing reality; the concept of a regional linguistic picture of the world is given. A regional linguistic picture of the world is understood as a set of ideas about the world that have been historically formed in the everyday consciousness of a linguistic community of a certain region and reflected in the language, which have formed as a result of the linguistic, mental and speech activity of many generations of people, as well as the features of the national character and mentality reflected in the language. The article defines Brest- Pinsk Polesie as a distinctive region, which is characterized by the originality of language, culture and history. The named features are reflected in linguistic units (non-equivalent vocabulary, microtoponyms, nicknames, etc.).
