Abstract

Labor resources are one of the indicators of the country's economic well-being. This factor is historically determined and is one of the components of the national security of the country. The article analyzes the formation of labor resources, examines historical certainty and the modern component. Attention is drawn to the fact that in the process of historical development and formation of labor resources, an employee was formed, whose activities combined mental and physical labor, the cultural and technical level increased, and along with these factors, the needs for changes not only in social and living conditions, but also in the environment as such. This social consequence was an important condition for a sufficiently rapid increase in the productivity of social labor. Today, the labor force is characterized taking into account quantitative and qualitative characteristics. These include the size of the population, working age, the availability of certain skills and abilities, etc. The process of formation and development of the country's workforce is inextricably linked with the process of state formation and development. The Republic of Belarus is no exception. The formation and development of statehood, the formation and development of the main state institutions and structures directly influenced the peculiarities and specifics of the country's labor resources. The article examines the main stages of the formation and formation of labor resources, notes the relationship and interdependence with global trends. Attention is drawn to a number of negative trends related to socio-economic processes. It is also indicated that the decrease in employment in Belarus is due to demographic processes (reduction of the working-age population in the country), which have a negative trend.
