Abstract
The article presents the experience of development and application of the educational and methodological complex on the discipline “Forest entomology”. The role of educational and methodological support in the organization of the educational process is noted. Four main blocks of structural elements forming the educational and methodological base of the discipline “Forest entomology” are considered and analyzed: educational and program documentation, including the academic plan and curriculum, which are developed and updated as necessary on the basis of educational standards of new generations; educational publications that have both historical value and officially approved and recommended for use in the educational process; teaching tools consisting of full-scale objects, video and audio recordings, electronic presentations and means of monitoring the quality of learning through the implementation of current, intermediate and final attestations. The experience of the distance learning technology application, which has now become quite popular, is also presented within the framework of the developed electronic educational and methodological complex of the discipline, that includes the results of the latest achievements of science and technology, the use of modern methods and technical means in the educational process, the organization and methodological support of independent work of students in this discipline, allowing to effectively assimilate educational material.
