Abstract

This article examines the specifics of media production in digital journalism. It becomes obvious that traditional media adapt their content to the space of social networks and messengers. The role of global digital platforms in the context of increasing competition for the attention of the audience is shown. A theoretical review of English-language sources on the issue under study is presented. An anonymous survey of 22 editors-in-chief of Belarusian regional state-owned media was the instrumental basis of the research. In the course of the research, new strategies of the Belarusian media under the growing influence of digital platforms were revealed. The main conclusion of the study is that the most important components of the digital strategy can be the creation of relevant and engaging content, stable attraction of subscribers to communities on digital platforms, obtaining high coverage and citations.
