Abstract

The article analyzes the original and translated texts of a work of art through the prism of the communicative-functional approach to translation activity, according to which the translation process is implemented according to three components interconnected by hierarchical relations: translation strategy → translation tactics → translation operations. Translation strategies are considered at the macro level and are defined as a course of action consciously chosen by the translator when translating a text. By translation tactics, we mean the translator's attitude to solve a specific problem in a given text or text fragment. Translation operations are a selection of certain interlingual equivalents or transformations at different levels. The relevance of studying the strategies and tactics of literary translation of a text is determined by the prospect of further studying the activities of a translator in the context of a communicative-functional approach and a comprehensive study of the factors influencing the process of literary translation.
