Abstract

The lexical-semantic, word-forming characteristics of obsolete stable expressions are described, the methods of marking such collocations in explanatory dictionaries of the Belarusian language are investigated. Basically, the principles of presenting obsolete combinations in lexicographic publiccations are the same. However, there is certain inconsistency in the registration of some outdated phrases in the in directories. In this regard, the author offers clarified definitions of particular expressions, for example, military officer, ambulance, carrier pigeons, etc. Obsolete terminological combinations are formed syntactically. The largest number of expressions is built according to the “adjective + noun” model, where the latter is the main component: aspid board, gartz taxes, state peasant, fair theater, Swedish wall, etc.
