Abstract

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the development of poster art in the context of advertising communication on the territory of Belarus from 1914 to 1990. The paper contains a detailed analysis of the content of Belarusian posters in the specified historical period, considers factors that contributed to their widespread dissemination as a means of informational influence on the target audience. In the article is noted the dependence of the advertising discourse on the socio-political transformations taking place in the society and the state.

In the article, the author relies on the works of such Belarusian researchers as Golubovich A. G., Govin S. V., Shamshur V. V., Borozna M. G., Saratovskaya N. N., Atrakhovich E. I. The theoretical material is supported by numerous examples of Belarusian posters, which make it possible to visually trace the specifics of advertising communication in the indicated period, including the indexed issues and features of artistic performance.

It has been defined that the study of poster art as one of the forms of advertising communication makes it possible to identify the main aspects of the socio-economic and political development of the country at a specific historical stage. The practical significance of the study is based on the possibility of using its results for the periodization of advertising communication in the territory of Belarus, as well as for determining the horizons of using posters to convey information to the target audience in modern conditions.
