Abstract

The article analyzes the main trends in the development of the repertoire of publications for children of middle and high school age. The object of research became the books published by Belarusian publishers from 2015 to 2020.

The author of the article believes that writers started to pay less attention to the problems associated with children's obsession with computers. There is an increase in the interest of authors and publishers to philosophical themes, to create works for the whole family (Z. Kaminskaya «Christmas Table», A. Khodanovich «Notes of the folder»). The works on Belarusian history and mythology are actively written (fantasy books by K. Shtalenkova «The Inner Side of the Mirror», A. Shein «Seven Stones», A. Dlatovskaya «Ornaments»; quest-book by E. Khodasevich-Lisova «The Key to the Great Treasures» and a bookthat can be red from two sides by the same author «Horror Story about Three Friends and a Ghost from the Farm. A Horror Story about a Spooky Night and Four Friends»).

Books with augmented reality are actively created, which significantly expand the possibilities of print publishing. Sometimes publications are designed so that the design of the pages visually resembles the screen of a smartphone or tablet (Ya. Malishevsky, O. Sprinchan «Milkshake for the Dinner King»).

Books with augmented reality are actively created that greatly enhance print editions. Sometimes books are designed in the way that pages visually resembles the screen of a smartphone or tablet (J. Maliszewski, O. Sprinchan «Milkshake for the Dinner King»).

The author concludes that writers and publishers are looking for new forms of presenting books and new formats of communication with readers, making creative graphic designs of publications. Moreover the content of modern books for children and teenagers, as a rule, is based on the Belarusian national material.
