Abstract
The article is devoted to the description of the system of rules for the preparation of an educational publication on the language for philological specialties of higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Based on the analyzed manuscript of the textbook “Old Slavonic language” and others, the author offers a number of practical recommendations for improving the process of creating and editing Belarusian-language educational literature. The main characteristics of the textbook and its dominant functions are indicated, and four aspects are considered with appropriate examples that should not be ignored by the editor when preparing the main text: rubrication; the content of paragraphs; numbering and reconciliation of all structural parts; control over the detection of repetitions and violations of the laws of formal logic. The main disadvantages of such elements of the apparatus of educational publications as the preface, the methodological apparatus are outlined.
