The journal is dedicated to the publication of up-to-date results of ongoing high-priority research contributed by researchers, academic staff, PhD students as well as a wide range of professionals.

It was published 9 times per year until 2016, since 2017 it has been published every month. 

The journal is included into the list of scientific periodicals of the Republic of Belarus that are authorized to publish the results of thesis research and in Russian Science Citation Index (Scientific Electronic Library elibrary.ru) as well as in the electronic library system of publishing house “Lan” and the electronic library Сyberleninka. The journal is entered into an electronic licensing relationship with EBSCO Publishing, the world's leading aggregator of full text journals, magazines and eBooks. The full text of JOURNAL can be found in the EBSCOhost™ databases.

Since 2012 selected issues of the journal “Proceedings of BSTU” have been published in English, including such issues as Forestry; Forest and Woodworking Industry; Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Substances; Chemistry, Technology of Organic Substances and Biotechnology.

The declared thematic sections of the journal do not limit the authors in choosing the topic of the publication and in case of an interesting, relevant material the publication can be enlarged. At the same time the material presented to the publication can have diverse nature: from the formulation of problematic theoretical questions, proposals for the development of new directions in the field of forestry, woodworking, chemical, printing and other industries to the analysis of the results of scientific researches. At the same time, the structure, contents and design of the manuscripts of articles must comply with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus.
