Abstract

The article examines the role of conceptual characters in the historical and philosophical project of the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze. According to the French thinker, philosophical systems can be imagined as a theater of action, which consists of a set of conceptual characters. The work shows that in creating his own concept, a philosopher needs a conceptual character to say "I", since he does not have the power to speak for himself, on his own behalf, and to establish his own way of thinking. In each case or for each conceptual character, the above statement must also be accompanied by another series of conceptual characters, beginning with the prefix "anti-". From the very appearance of philosophy to modern concepts and trends, the history of philosophy is determined by these empathic and antipathetic movements that are attached to the name of the philosopher and certain characters, thereby establishing a specific form of dramaturgy that belongs to philosophy. And the entire history of philosophy is a place for the invention of another conceptual character who enters into a struggle with the first in order to overturn his image. Thus, it can be argued that the entire history of Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy appears as a conceptual theatre.
