Abstract

The problems of increasing efficiency, labor productivity and improving product quality in printing are associated with the development of automated control systems, information and control systems with the wide involvement of computer technology. At the same time, the requirements for the technical characteristics of computer equipment are constantly increasing. The authors determined the trends in the use of computers, computer systems in printing. The computer architecture is presented – a set of general principles for organizing hardware and software and their characteristics, determining the functionality of the computer for solving the corresponding classes of problems. The issues of modernization and improvement of the organization of computers, computer systems and networks to increase the possibilities of using computers in the print industry are discussed. Further increase in the efficiency of using computing equipment in printing is associated with the use of highly parallel multiprocessor systems.

At the same time, the tasks of storing and high-speed processing of a large amount of multimedia information are solved. The creation of multiprocessor computing systems with multiprocessing allows you to simultaneously interact with a computer of a large number of subscriber points. Operational interaction with clients is carried out. Network management makes it possible to synchronize the work of publishers and printing houses. This makes it possible to create integrated control systems that include automation of technologies for pre-printing, printing and post-printing stages of printing production.
