Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of technical education in the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 19 century, the organization and management of educational districts, as well as the introduction of technical knowledge in educational institutions. Professor O. I. Senkovsky in 1826 noted the urgent need to open craft departments in Belarusian educational institutions to improve the welfare of the population. In the Charter of 1828, this proposal was taken into account, and the responsibility for the development of real education was assigned to the county schools. One of the results of the Charter of 1828 was the organization of the Belarusian Educational District, which presented a new experience in the management of the education system in the person of the trustee. As a result, in 1835, all educational districts were withdrawn from the control of universities. Since that time, the activities of the Ministry of Public Education on the opening and organization of real branches have also been intensified. In connection with the dominant agrarian structure of the North-Western Region, the granting of university rights to the Gorygoretsky Agricultural Institute in 1848 was a significant event. For the first time in the history of Russia, the Belarusian Educational District began training engineers for agricultural construction and machine building.
