Abstract

The article presents a substantive analysis of the institutions for catch-up development of the forest sector in Belarus environmental investment and innovation. The research set the following objectives: assessing the degree and nature of the influence of catch-up development institutions in the economic system of the forest sector and identifying new tools for involving business communities and public organizations in the innovative context of the economy. The research based on the theories of spatial, resource, and innovation economics. The possibilities of the concept of joint management of forest sector resources revealed, which plays an important role in relation to the development of innovative activity of business entities. The object of the study is the system of economic relations in the forest sector of the Republic of Belarus. The novelty of the study lies in the implementation of the task of joint consideration of institutional innovations of the Belarusian society related to the implementation of the green growth policy and factors that include rent formation processes and determine the development potential of the forest sector of Belarus in relation to innovation. Research methods economic analysis and interpretation, in particular, which consists in identifying industry-specific features of the functioning of economic objects and processes in the forestry sector. In addition, the possibilities of ontological modeling of rental practices in developed countries of the world are used. Institutional solutions for the forest sector of Belarus should include a reorientation towards the creation of an effective mechanism for intersectoral cooperation, as well as motivation of forest sector business entities to environmental investment through the use of tools of “club” benefits (corporate finance and their management) and electronic ments of innovative type financing – crowdfunding. To generate innovation in forest bioeconomic development, attention should be paid to the role of pricing and the application of its hedonic aspect, as well as the provision of highly qualified and motivated personnel.
