Abstract

The article presents a historical and philosophical reconstruction and comparative analysis of the Gnostic anthropology of Valentin and the existential dialectic of S. Kierkegaard. As a result of the comparative analysis, semantic parallels between Gnostic anthropology and existential dialectics were revealed, which allowed us to reveal the existential motives in Gnosticism and the gnostic foundations of S. Kierkegaard's existentialism. The article is devoted to the understanding of the problem of the anthropological crisis and the search for a solution to the question of the prospects for the survival of humankind in the modern world. Based on this goal, the methodological potential of gnostic and existential dialectics in solving the issue of human choice and self-realization in the face of modern challenges and anthropological crisis was substantiated. The possibility of their use as methodological techniques for the self-development of modern man, the implementation of self-determination in the face of existential and anthropological challenges is substantiated.
