Abstract

The article discusses the conditions, essential characteristics, basic procedures and meaningful mechanisms of understanding as a phenomenon that is born in communicative interaction. The study of understanding as a creative activity made it possible not only to identify such features of it as dialogism, productivity, processuality, but also provided an opportunity to consider understanding as a process of constituting new cultural meanings.

It has been established that understanding involves dialogue, subject-subject relations, openness of the communicative process, plurality of interpretation, is of a pronounced historical nature and, combining the functions of reproduction and generation, provides an opportunity to comprehend various forms of spiritual culture in the spirit of tolerance and adogmatism.

The heuristic potential of philosophical hermeneutics is revealed, the possibility of its use as a methodological basis of intercultural dialogue in the context of the transformation of the communicative model in modern civilizational dynamics is substantiated.
