Abstract

The publication provides a brief analysis of the UN General Assembly activities on forced migration and refugee issues in the new century. The author emphasised some directions and three stages in the decision-making process of the UN General Assembly on these issues: starting from the removal of the temporal limitation for the UNHCR activity, through responding to the solution of the problems of forced migration to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (which affected all migration processes). The author underlines that the international community must spend more attention for prevention to creation of new forced migration flows: during the reviewing period under review, it turned out quite badly.
