Abstract

The article presents the results of a sociological study aimed at studying the ideas about the common and national past of Russian and Belarusian students.

The analysis allows us to conclude that the modern student youth in both Russia and Belarus attaches great importance to history, considers it necessary to preserve and broadcast the past for future generations.

The youth confirms their interest with a fairly high level of knowledge in the field of history, both national and general. It is in this aspect that it becomes possible to determine the field that represents the common past of Russia and Belarus, as well as to identify the area of representations that form the fields of the national past.
