Abstract

The article presents the results of the assessment of the current system of environmental management indicators in the Republic of Belarus based on the analysis of the existing system of natural and economic accounting. A methodological scheme for the formation of national indicators of sustainable nature management is substantiated, the principal content of which is the separation of economic and environmental assets in the accounting system with a specification of their composition.

A system of key indicators of sustainable environmental management “Reproduction of natural capital” has been developed, adapted to the Sustainable Development Goals of the Republic of Belarus and allowing for the physical and cost measurement of natural and environmental capital as part of the national wealth of the country.

Based on the trends that have developed in world and national practice to improve the economic and environmental accounting of natural resources, it is proposed to use cost and analytical indicators in addition to physical indicators (which are now largely developed). The fundamental difference in the value measurement of natural and ecological capital is indicated. Integral indicators for assessing “green” growth, as well as indicators of the processes of reproduction of natural and environmental capital, are proposed.
