Abstract

The process of digitalization concerns all systems of modern society. At the same time, the media system is one of the first to undergo a significant transformation due to the use of the latest digital technologies at all stages of production, distribution and consumption of content. Digital technologies, namely the Internet, allow the media to respond promptly to the events that have occurred, post and update content while remaining relevant. The emergence, development and formation of network media in the Republic of Belarus is the result of the process of digitalization of the country’s media system. Interactivity, hypertextuality and the possibility of constant updating are the main distinguishing features of network media from traditional print media. Currently, the study of online journalism, in particular network media, including the genres used in it, is an urgent scientific perspective. The article discusses the genre varieties of network media of Gomel (gp.by) and Mogilev (mogilevnews.by) regions. It is noted that the predominant genres in the two network media are informational. At the same time, there are certain types of analytical and feature genres, but there is a shortage of these genre forms. The dominant genre in gp.by and mogilevnews.by is news stories.
