REISSUE OF THE SERIES OF BOOKS “MEMORY”: RELEVANCE AND DEMAND

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of reissue popular scientific encyclopedic serial publications. The scope of the term “reissue” presented in the production and reference literature, the main motivational aspects affecting the need for the release of educational and reference books, as well as the experience of republishing individual books in the series: “Memory. Osipovichi region”, “Memory. Starodorozhsky region”, “Memory. Slutsk region. Slutsk”. Important factors of relevance and demand have been identified: public demand, the development of historical science, the improvement of the educational process, the renewal of state programs “Perpetuating the memory of those killed in the defense of the Fatherland”, “Education and Youth Policy” for 2021–2025, the development of information technologies. The forms of publishing books “Memory” are offered. It is concluded that it is necessary to continue the project of historical and documentary chronicles of cities and regions of Belarus “Memory”.
