Abstract
The article deals with the issues of the national policy known as Belarusization, the reasons for the appeal to it, the main directions, the attitude to this phenomenon of the population.
The origins of Belarusization – in the deployment of the Belarusian national movement, which began as a cultural and ethnographic, in the program provisions of national parties, in the search for forms of national-state construction, taking place in a clash of different views and opinions. The appearance of the Belarusian periodical press, the activities of the BNR government, the proclamation of the BSSR also played a role here. In the 1920s, Belarus acquired the status of a state policy.
