Abstract
The article studies the organization and conduct of school excursions. On the example of the first excursion organized for several educational institutions, which took place in the summer of 1911, all stages of preparation are considered in detail including the study of the excursion route, issues of financial security. It is presented how the issues of nutrition of students during the trip were solved, how the interaction with local institutions went on during the trip, it is shown what kind of assistance was provided to the tourists by local government and educational institutions. Conclusions are drawn that at the beginning of the 20th century school trips became an important element of the educational process in educational institutions in the cities of Belarus. The organization and conduct of excursions were carefully thought out and planned in order to ensure the safety of life and health of tourists, comfortable travel conditions. Both the educational administration and private individuals and various institutions provided organizational and financial assistance.
