Abstract

The article discusses the areas of work on the quantitative expansion and qualitative improvement of the material and technical base in the grain sector of agriculture in the republic. Attention is drawn to the performance characteristics of the equipment supplied to the farms, to the moments of participation in the process of technical re-equipment of agricultural production of enterprises of the machinebuilding industry of the Byelorussian SSR and research teams. Measures for the comprehensive mechanization of grain production, its provision with a stable power supply, as well as rational and comprehensive chemicalization and land reclamation of the republic are analyzed. The issues of introducing a scientifically based farming system into agriculture, which ensures the expanded reproduction of soil fertility and their efficient use, have been studied. The points of combating soil erosion and liming of acidic soils, rationalizing the use of fertilizer resources are highlighted. Examples of improving the system of tillage, the introduction of progressive technological methods and new requirements of agricultural technology in advanced farms are given. The process of transferring to the scientific and industrial basis of seed production has been studied. The system of organization of breeding work and its results are reflected. The interrelation of the development of the grain industry with the growth of crop yields and the increase in gross yields is highlighted.
