Abstract

The article examines the processes of labor force reproduction and reproduction of jobs in the national economy of Belarus on the basis of statistical data for the ten-year period of time. Therefore, attention is paid to the study of the relationship between the relevant demographic and economic processes. The indicators of demographic processes were the traditional indicators of the number of population, its fertility and mortality, depopulation, migration, life expectancy, and demographic burden. Economic processes were studied on the basis of reference to the indicators of employment and unemployment of the population, unprofitability of organizations, the level of technological development of industry, as well as the indicators of business-demographic statistics, characterizing the “fertility” and “mortality” of enterprises. Based on the results of the analysis of statistical data, conclusions were made on the existence of a significant gap between the parameters of labor force reproduction and reproduction of jobs, prerequisites for an increase in labor migration were highlighted. In this regard, we formulate proposals to improve the quality of the institutional environment in Belarus, in particular, to develop economic institutions that form entrepreneurial and labor activity.

The presented algorithm of labor force and job reproduction analysis can be used for scientific and practical purposes either as presented or as revised by researchers.
